Oak Ridge High School is the third high school I've attended so far. Compared to the other schools I've been to, it's quite a good school. There's many clubs and electives to choose from. Oak Ridge is a very big school with a very large student population. All my teachers have been very good people, but not all were good at teaching. However, they are all willing to help out students with their personal and academic problems. Generally, students are very nice, welcoming, ambitious, intelligent, and open-minded. Though it's not very common, there are some kids who will verbally discriminate others because of their sexuality, race, political views, and etc.

I think that something this school could work on is the visitor sign in requirements because I think that, right now, it would be pretty easy for an unwanted visitor to come onto campus. I do feel safe at my school because of the very high anti-buillying policy and the police car that is normally always at the very front of the school. I am also fortunate that I am close with my counselor so I know that she is always just an appointment or email away. I can truly say that I have never felt unsafe at my school except for two fluke incident my freshman and sophomore year (serious action was taken immediately)!

Honestly, everything depends on the situation and which teachers are being evaluated! I have had amazing teachers in the past who make me excited to come to class and learn. On the other hand, I have had teachers who teach lessons that do not excite me or make me feel ready to learn. I would say that 9/10 teachers at Oak Ridge are very nice, open for any type of conversation, and are ready for change. I have been able to have some of my teachers also be my friends and mentors; however, those same teachers have also been the same teachers that I felt did not teach as well. I am not trying to disrespect Oak Ridge High School in any way, shape, or form, because I am grateful for all that it has done for me the past four years!
