Ogemaw Heights High School Reviews
Rating 3.3 out of 5 209 reviews
My experience at Ogemaw Heights High School is filled with many ups and downs. As an athlete, I have had an excellent time participating in the girl's varsity swim and soccer teams, gaining teamwork and leadership skills. The team environments were fulfilling to be around and made my high school experience enjoyable. My schools academics are not the greatest and I do not feel as though I am prepared for college. I have done well in all of the courses which I have taken but most of them were quite easy and did not challenge me. The school's food is not the greatest, but there is a variety of options available daily. Most of my teachers were decent but there has been 2 who have really stuck out to me and strongly supported me throughout high school. These two teachers treated me like a human being with a life outside of school, where the other teachers treated me like my school like was the only thing that mattered to them.
The best part of my highschool career was the ability to be dual enrolled and get college credit while still in highschool. The staff is friendly and overall very involved with student life and academics.
The best part of my experience at Ogemaw Heights High School is the people. Growing up in a small town means that you are surrounded by lots of people you have known your whole life. This makes the school feel comfortable and safe. The worst part definitely has to be the amount of opportunities. There are a few opportunities for students however, I think it would be better to offer a bigger variety of things for students. Some of the best experiences are sports games. In a small school from a small town everyone knows everyone, including the other team, so it can definitely get wild and make things a lot more interesting and memorable.
