Oglethorpe has been such a game-changer for me.In August 2021, I began school at Oglethorpe County High School. I'm the football fundraising coordinator, basketball DJ, prom DJ, and everyone's closest friend! I also joined the marching band where I enjoy many leadership roles and the perks of being a member of the marching band family. My experiences at OCHS have shown me that I was born a natural leader, with the gift of giving and helping others. No matter the situation I will step up, lead, and will always lend a helping hand. I believe these strengths are the result of the experiences I encountered in my past years where I needed help myself, specifically during my virtual experience. In giving much thought to my gift of enthusiastically embracing and solving others’ problems, I came to the decision that becoming a court-appointed attorney for others in need was the right pathway for my future.
Out of all the schools I've been to over the years, Oglethorpe has and— so far —will always be my favorite. I'd say there is plenty of diversity in the school and that's just one of my favorite parts about it. Getting help from teachers or counselors has been easy and they've been greatly helpful. Also when getting school work, teachers don't just pile it up on you and for the most part learning has been pretty hands on which helps me a lot at remembering certain things for quizzes and stuff. Over OCHS is a really great school and if you're living in the area I'd recommend coming here.
I've been in this school system since I was enrolled in the Pre-K. The school itself is nice. Some of the teachers in the building want to see their students succeed. However, the administration likes to give special treatment to athletes when they do something wrong, and won't defend students that are victims of said athletes. But, such is the life in high school. Kids that have more, southern ideals, are also given special treatment, if you understand what I'm saying.
