Overall Experience: My favorite experineces at this school include those from track and cross-country. Parkersburg South has some issues, but the sporting events seem to bring the most joy and happiness to people. In the long run that and education is what really matters, and even though I do not agree with everything the school does, most everyone seems to enjoy it.

Food: I myself do not eat "school food" because of the horror stories I hear everyday. Most kids that eat school lunch claim it as sometimes "unetable" because the low quality of food. Portions are another big problem. High schoolers are being fed the same portions as a third grader even though they are twice their size. Many students, who participate in sports after school, do not have the amount of energy that the sport requires due to small portioning.

Administration & Policies: To everyone's surprise, the once strict school has changed atmosphere this year to a laid back vibe. Many rules that would have gotten one in a lot of trouble are now gone. While there is a dress code, no one follows it an no one gets in trouble for it (unless extreme). Also, the cell phone policy has become much more relaxed. Students can be seen every period with a cell phone in hand.

Sports & Fitness: There are many booming opportunities to participate in high school sports at South. Alithough, many of the teams do cut, there are others such as; track, cross-country, football, and crew that do not so everyone can attend. School spirit is huge at Parkserburg South. The "South Side Psychos" make an appearance at every big sporting event. Everyone is welcome to come join and support their team while intimidating the opponent. Overall, sports and fanning is a big aspect in our school.

Teachers: There are many teachers that give off an "I don't get paid enough to be here, let's go home." k

ind of vibe. It is very evident that many teachers at Parkersburh South do not truly love their job and care for their students. Most do as little as possible to get by and it shows. If different learning techniques were made available to the students, as a whole they would do much better, but many teachers do not ask or pay attention to how students learn best. From experience, they do not reach out entirely for a student who is obviously struggling. On the other hand, there are also many teachers who indeed respect and love their job. They addiquately stand out from the other teachers who obviously made the wrong career choice.
