Overall Experience: My favorite experiance at Parkland High School was being a part of the Track and Field Team. It was a great way to stay fit, and a great way to meet new people.

Extracurriculars: There are a multitude of after-school activities, some of which are SADD (students against destructive decisions), conservation club, geology club, engineering club, power lifting club, and art club. There is such a diverse offering of clubs at this school that nearly all students are able to fine their niche. The faculty and students are very committed to their clubs, for example the conservation club spends all year prepping for the Lehigh Valley Envirothon competitions, and to teach children from the elementary schools about wildlife and conservation techniques.

Overall Experience: My experience so far at this school have been phenomenal, the faculty, students, and clubs/organizations available help the students tailor their high school career to their likes and dislikes. This school in particular helps students get a wide variety of different experiences whether it be in engineering, pottery, or zoology. The students truly get to experience so much, which in turn helps them choose a career path and help them lay out their life. One of the my favorite experiences every year is the Festival of the Arts. This is a school wide event that nearly all clubs, students, and faculty get involved in. It allows all students in the engineering and arts departments to display their artwork or put on shows in order to make a wonderful event for parents and younger children to enjoy. There is food, music, and games. The theater department dresses up as Disney characters in order to entertain young children, along with face painting, and music productions put on by the band, orchestra, and chorale.

Teachers: All of the teachers make the students aware that they will do anything to help them succeed, whether that be staying after school and helping them or spending more time on a particularly difficult lesson. The teachers have different teaching styles, which allows all students to experience different teaching styles to prepare them for college. Most of the teachers also take in students suggestions and feedback readily, and generate new activities or lesson plans to match where the students feel they are at and what they do well or what they do not do so well.

Health & Safety: Most of the time I feel safe during school. I rarely visited the nurse unless it was to get band aids for a teacher so I'm not so much an expert on the health side of things. However, this school does take the necessary precautions and acts on them when they see it is absolutely necessary.
