Parkland High School Reviews
Rating 3.89 out of 5 703 reviews
So far up to my senior year at Parkland High School, my experience has been stellar. Parkland high schools offers a variety of high levels classes that can really set up students for college in the field they would like to peruse. Since freshman year I have been following a BioMed 4 year course which counts as an AP course and I feel very prepared as to what I shall see in college and I feel a step ahead. Also the community and sports aspect is amazing. Our school has competitive and successful teams throught all seasons and there is also many amounts of clubs that are fit for anyone who would like to join.
Parkland is a wealthy district and gets beyond adequate funding for all educational departments, which we have had the privilege of being part of. The biggest issue itself is the people. After class of 2023, the students grow less intelligent and less emotionally mature/regulated with each year. While this may not be a problem of the district itself, it does affect the overall environment. While the teachers are generally very committed to their careers and role in students' development, they are often held back or bothered by the administration over petty rules. I also have my personal gripes with the members of the administration.
I graduated from Parkland High School last May and attended for all four years. Overall, I had a great experience. Some highlights include various clubs/activities offered, high-level STEM courses offered, and compassionate teachers. However, there were some negatives of this high school. One negative was a lack of a sense of security. There were numerous threats throughout my four years of attendance.
