I’ve been at pike highschool for over 3 years and it’s been pretty good. I’ve gotten a chance to bring up my grades by help of the staff, the resources they have around and I have built great bonds with my close friends. There are good sports there especially for those interested in it. They have clubs that make you get involved when you think you might not be a fit to any other things! I love the performing arts there I actually am apart of one of their groups and it’s been an amazing experience and overall I think it’s a pretty good school.
Overall I've had a decent experience in Pike High School. I was able to meet some of my best friends and I was able to find my love of show choir here. However, the funding for show choir and other performing arts compared to the funding for athletics is extremely low and it can be very disheartening. In the past few years, there was a feeling that administrators and superintendents didn't care about the students within the school or even the district. But, this year I can see that things are beginning to turn around a bit. We are under a lot of new leadership and things seem to be turning around for the better! In my past years at Pike, there were times when I felt unsafe and concerning situations arose, but this year has been A lot better and I see that continuing going forward!
My time at Pike High School has been memorable and enjoyable. I enjoy being challenged in my International Baccalaureate classes. I've made lifelong friends and look forward to studying at Indiana University - Bloomington. The faculty has been amazing all throughout my 4 years here as they've instilled a love for learning inside of me that will stick with me for the rest of my life. I enjoyed watching our sports teams and performing arts teams perform at games, concerts, and various competitions as well. There weren't very many low points but if I had to choose one, I would say it would be knowing that not everyone has had the same wonderful experience I have had. Many threw away the opportunity the chance to get an "A-1" Education by participating in activities they were not supposed to. I hope that those who come after me go down the path that I chose, rather than the alternative, so they may reap all the benefits they can from this great school.
