For me, my school is ultimately the best I could expect from a public high school. I'm exceptionally lucky to have learned from the teachers I had. There are a lot of high school teacher "horror stories" I've seen students from other schools share, and I have not had a single teacher from my school who would meet that bar. They honestly care about their students and helping them learn, which is rare for teachers, in general. Having had genuinely kind teachers in every single one of my classes for the past 4 years was either exceptionally lucky, or a positive reflection on my school. The student body is also generally driven, and many of my classmates inspire me to work harder, and be kinder. One thing I'm hoping could change is how difficult it is to change your schedule. It's really only possible in the first two weeks after a semester starts, which is understandable, but this year, students weren't allowed to change classes at all, with no explanation given.
Personally, I am very proud to be a student at Quartz Hill High School. The school is very well kept, aside the normal trash here and there. I have had nothing but great teachers who encourage their students and make our learning experience enjoyable. The security is also very alert and has made our school feel as safe as possible. There are so many courses available to us, as well as resources for us to take full advantage of. My counselor has helped me a great amount; showing me all my possible routes and overall ensuring me of how much I can accomplish with my performance. As a part of LinkCrew, a student involvement organization, I can really see and testify that our staff care about their students. They do their best to guide us in the proper direction and do so with such patience. Even for special case students, the schools attention is fully given. They are open to helping every kid.
