Overall Experience: This schools has its ups and downs through the usual struggles of the classic teenage life, but I have made so many lifelong friends here. I hope this school is close to the same as it is now when I send my kids here in the future because I want them to learn as much as I did-- in school and personal life. I would recommend my school to anyone who wants to find some unique and loving people and wants to express themselves freely. This school has a comfortable atmosphere and is filled with kind people, teachers and students. I absolutely love the school's band program because everyone in there is a part of my extended family. We travel together and really fun trips for music and have a great time. I would choose this school all over again if I had to, but I'm excited for my next adventure...college.

Food: I don't typically buy lunch at school because I pack my own lunch. The food is decent. The Paninis are especially good. When you buy a lunch combo it is required for students to grab a fruit/vegetable and juice. This is probably required due to health reasons. They sell pizzas, pickup sticks orange chicken, BBQ sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, salad, yogurt parfait, ice cream, cookies, and more.

Administration & Policies: The dress code at SDA is pretty loose because we are known to be a very expressive school-- and we are proud to express ourselves through our clothing. Occasionally students get dress coded by a few teachers for wearing something inappropriate. The principle is extremely nice as well as all of the counselors at the school. Bully is strictly prohibited, but as many other schools, it can go unnoticed. The attendance is pretty high at my school as far as I know. There is never any physical punishment dealt. When students arrive late to class without getting their absence excused, they will end up on the LOP (Loss of Privileges) List. In order to get off this list, a student will have to attend a detention or a few. If you end up on the LOP List it means you can't attend school dance among other things.

Sports & Fitness: San Dieguito Academy is currently in reconstruction, so we don't have any tennis courts at the moment. Last year, they built a brand new artificial turf field with a brand new track as well. The weight training room has a sufficient amount of weights. The gym is exactly as one would expect it-- large and filled with basketball hoops. The locker rooms seem pretty safe, as I normally don't hear complaints about stealing. Many students nvolved in sports in order to complete their physical fitness requirement. The teams are very cohesive and many people make their friends through sports. Are teams are generally pretty good, but SDA is not known for having super strong athletics. Friends often attend games and most of the student body is proud to be part of SDA.

Extracurriculars: San Dieguito Academy not only has a great curriculum, but has awesome extracurricular activities. The music department is growing every year and the theatre program is as popular as ever. The school also offers guitar-making, wood shop, metal shop, auto shop, painting, sculpture, and more.

There's tons of clubs that happen during school and after school like Community Club, K-4, JNHS, NHS, SNHS, photography club, adventure club, and more.
