San Marcos High School Reviews
Rating 3.69 out of 5 326 reviews
San Marcos High School is a well established public school. Like all public schools, it has much potential to improve and become better. Although it has its flaws such as not always informing students about ways to access to financial aid through scholarships or grants, it does well enough for a public school.
As a Class of 2019 Alumni at SMHS, my overall experience is mixed with good and flawed. The good part of SMHS is the diversity of classes they offer (i.e., floral design, ASL, fashion design, and cosmetology, to name a few), the diverse culture(s), and the array of clubs to partake in during lunch hour and after.
With every good thing, there are the flaws. The flaw SMHS has is that there are often physical altercations happening three times a week at the most. Note that was when I was attending SMHS.

This school is nice and safe but it is a little boring. The teachers are amazing, there are a lot of opportunities given and there is so much college readiness. I like this school a lot but it isn't very special. They offer so many different kinds of courses. My personal favorite is culinary arts. I enjoy being part of this school a lot. There are always people who great you with smiles and ask you how your day is. That is the best thing about this school, all of the teachers and the counselors. They all care about our health and about our life after high school. They really care about our future. They always want the best from us. Most teachers here are always understanding of our situations and if you ever need help with anything, you always know you can trust them. I really love this school, it's filled with amazing people who have amazing hearts. This school holds a very good place in my heart this applies to many of the students here. I hope that everyone has a school like mine.
