My experience at Seguin High School has been like an alien entering another planet and nobody is welcoming or engaging. The school district lacks teachers who genuinely care for their students. In my 12 school years in this district, I have met one teacher who cared. The school district let her go because she was genuinely close to her students and tried to help us. I have never been more disappointed in a school ever in my life. Yes, it has its upsides; the new amenities and activities that the school offers. I am apart of the dance team and I can say that the only reason I enjoy it is because it keeps me distracted and away from all of the negative energy from my fellow school mates.
Seguin High School is a place where you can learn not only about academics but also about life. It is a place where the teachers and administration care about you. And they are willing to help you or answer your questions if you ask them for help. Respect and kindness are things that exist in this school, but they also help students to be the best version of themselves.
Seguin High School is only a good inclusive school if you're an established family of the city, or your family donates max amounts. I've learned this over my years at Seguin High School with my experience of favoritism through sport programs and overall treatment of students, coaches, principals and administration only care about a certain group of people's opinion and it took for a direct approach of the Super Intendant of Schools from multiple parents for even a slight change to occur at Seguin High School. Seguin High School has good resources like Talent Search with Texas State and the college and career readiness administrators are awesome at what they do in that department. They give amazing opportunities to the students who are willing to accept their help. Seguin has made a few changes but it's hard to see those changes over the teachers complaining especially Dual Credit ones when their class time is being taken away because of students not being motivated enough to pass EOC's
