Most of the teachers I had the opportunity to affiliate with at Shelley Senior High School were incredible. I had one in particular, my senior year that would teach on the students level and get students involved in the lesson. It was the most interactive class I have ever been a part of. Students were able to voice their opinions about the discussed topics openly, without feeling like their voice didn't matter. The teacher was always willing to discuss things and give his opinion, but not in a way that made you feel like you were wrong. He made sure we knew the facts, but it was also important for him to know his students views. He really cared about the students he taught, and it really showed in his class time lectures. Government my senior year was by far the most educational and interactive class I have ever been a part of. I loved it.

With the size of the school, I feel like we have pretty good extracurricular activity choices. There are many different sports, such as football, cross country, soccer, track, baseball, etc. I think sports probably has the strongest level of commitment because of our competitiveness. We have a few service groups like National Honors Society and Key Club. They don't have very large budgets but there are many students who participate. The school's theatrical performances are very well done for the size that it is. The music and arts program don't get recognized enough at this school, unfortunately.

There were many things to do after school in Shelley. I decided to work after school most of the time, so I didn't participate in them very much. When I had time though, I was sure to make the most of what was offered!
