Academics: The academics at this school are the best out there. The teachers challenge you and make you actually think on your own so that you will learn something and not just hear the blabber about a subject. The methods used to teach really help you understand and get your work done in class. The work load is pretty heavy, but if you plan right you can have everything done and not be too stressed if you work for it.

Student Culture & Diversity: There is no real peer pressure to do anything, everyone wants you to just have a good time and learn as you do best. The only time someone would be pressured to maybe join a club and that's just the usually "oh there's this and there's that and it's so great you have to join," type of pressure. The culture is very diverse and people are from all over and have many beliefs and ethics that we all take into account.

Extracurriculars: The clubs are very organized and give you many chances to get scholarships and opportunities to learn more about college and success that you will obtain from going here. The administration and club advisors are all very involved in the community of the school and help to organize and demonstrate learning skills and opportunities.

Teachers: The teachers at SOAR High School are very engaged and love to help the students if you need it. The teachers use technology and human interaction to help students and give them an advantage over other students. The teachers hold you responsible and treat you as an adult and a college student, so you have to be in control and be ready.

Academics: The academics of this school is what drives people to it. SOAR High School is an early-college high school which lets students take up to eleven units of college credits per semester, and sometimes students get their Associates Degree. That is just the college though; at the high school, teachers make sure they stick with the common cores for their class, but also add spice to their classrooms by having hands on activities along with other activities to suit auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. The classes are all high-paced intense classes with heavy workloads inside the classroom, but the students get little homework because the teachers understand we also focus on our college classes. The scheduling includes the seniors and juniors in the morning and the sophomores and the freshmen at noon or so. Most freshmen and sophomores take core classes, but juniors and seniors get more electives in their schedules as they have already taken a lot of core classes on the A-G list. Students are allowed to use any resources on the college campus to aid them on what they feel they might need help on, which helps the students soar in their academics.
