During my 4 years at South Mecklenburg High School, I can honestly say that i have really enjoyed myself. The people I have met make South Meck a happier place. The first day of my freshman year, I believed what I had seen on television and the movies about the big bullies and mean, careless teachers but in all actuality South Meck is nothing like that. South Meck is one of the most, if not the most, diverse school in North Carolina. People from all different colors and creeds come together and enjoy each others company and welcome each other. Though we may have had some rifts during my years at South Meck, everyone gets along. Its something I can say I am very grateful for because the community aspect is so important especially in modern times. There have been peaceful protest against the things happening in the news and different types of people at South Meck have shows their support and its a truly beautiful thing to see. I believe that the community aspect of South Meck is what really makes our school unique. Yes, there are cliques and groups of people but when it really comes down to people coming together for either a homecoming, sports game, theater performance or a simple school project- no one feels the need to shy away from anyone because the South Meck community is just that welcoming and accepting. So when you ask if I could do my high school experience over again, I say: I would not have it any other way.
