My overall experience at Tuscaloosa County High School has been one to remember! I have made some of my greatest memories at this school but have had some pretty bad experiences also. County High is known for their school spirit and that is what I love most about it! I enjoyed being a Majorette in the marching band for three years. I also enjoyed attending pep rallies and going to the football games! Also, homecoming week was what everyone looked forward to and it was also one of my favorite parts of County High. One of the things that makes TCHS unique is it's history. TCHS has been open since the late 1920s and still follows all of the same traditions. It is especially unique for me considering my grandfather attended this school and so did both of my parents. If I could do it all over again, I would still choose to attend Tuscaloosa County High School because overall it is a great school and provides its students a quality education along with a memorable high school experience.

My experience at Tuscaloosa County High School was very limited. The people there are very hesitant towards diversity. They ask questions due to their limited understanding, which ultimately comes off very offensive. The ones who actually make it by with good grades and achievements only use their position to look down on others, seeking all the attention for themselves. The biggest problem is that the majority of people there are not very welcoming, and they only see things from one point of view. I am not placing the blame on the entire school; I just believe there are a million things that could be changed for the betterment of the school environment. I also am aware that no school is perfect. I am grateful for the education that I've been provided, and I do appreciate the memories I've made. And because I've noticed such flaws at my school, all I hope is that I've left somewhat of a positive imprint or difference on the people there.

County High is in no way the worst school in the county, however there are some serious issues. The environment isn't safe feeling - there are near weekly fights and a lot of drug/tobacco use. The food is really gross (as is the case with most school) so bringing your own lunch is next to mandatory. The counselors are some of the worst I've ever seen. I've never experienced such unhelpful people in my life. I almost missed a scholarship deadline because they didn't send my transcript in time (I submitted a request about three weeks prior). They are almost never at their office and when they are, they're busy. They don't do much to help students with college, either. They just usually suggest the local community college and know almost nothing about other universities. The dress code is pretty strict, though not heavily enforced save for the principle and a few teachers. Some of the teachers are amazing, particularly some of the AP teachers. They really made the experience for me. I will say most of the science teachers don't put forth any effort at all, so watch out for them.

A wide variety of classes is offered compared to some of the surrounding schools in the county (that is probably due to how large TCHS is in comparison).
