Union High School, as a whole, is just like any other high school. Your education is what you make of it, not what the teachers make of it. The majority of the teachers at this school are passionate and really want the students to learn. The school pours money not only into the academic areas of the school, but also sports and arts as well. There are, however, a lot of things that go unnoticed. At one point I was in a class in which the teacher had me leaving campus running errands for him instead of actually being a regular student in the class. The spirit at Union is phenomenal - football games have four different spirit groups in the stands that help lead the cheers of the student body. Getting involved is easy, and finding a group of people that works with you can be easy if you know where to look. Once you're an upperclassman you can use one of your six hours of the day to work in one of the departments of the school instead of taking a class -- such as being a library aid or nurses aid. It's a great way to have some extra time in your day that isn't devoted to learning something you don't need. Remember, your education is what YOU make of it.
