Health & Safety: Most of the students at Upland High school are accepting to all student, most student are tolerant. It can be said that Upland has in fact a no bullying policies and will not be tolerated. It is rare to see people getting bullied or being bullies. Personal safety is a major factor that this school follows by and yearns to continue the way it is handing it. Special securities measure policies are handled greatly and allows student to be completely safe. Upland High School is considered as one of the best and safest high schools around the community.

Teachers: My AVID teacher, Mr. Carrasco, who teaches Government, Economy and AVID, is one of the best teachers at Upland High School. It is noticeable that he truly cares about every single student he has, especially his AVID students. The AVID program, Advance Via Individual Determination, helps students as a College readiness program. Mr. Carrasco has been my teacher since Freshman year and has supported me throughout the years of high school. Mr. Carrasco is considered a strict but also enjoyable teacher to have. He definitely engages into the lessons he is teaching, which is a reason why he is my favorite teacher. His consistency of grading is pretty fair and accurate, if you do all your homework and study for test, it is possible to acquire a passing grade.

Extracurriculars: In order for clubs to be established, the students have to form them. As a result, the only students that end up taking part in this are those that are competitive because they know it will bolster their college application. Unfortunately, these academically driven students only represent 20% of our student body at the most.

Overall Experience: I attended the school during their strike in an attempt to raise their salaries. So it's difficult for me to say that I want to come back to this school because of the fact that teachers weren't willing to work with students outside of their paid hours which was from 7:45-2:40.
