Upper Darby High School offers a large variety of clubs and extracurricular activities. Personally, I participate in the following: choir, orchestra, our volleyball team, anti-bullying club, french tutoring, National English Honor Society, freshman tour guide (ROC), environmental club, varsity club, and many others. Overall, all of these clubs offer something different and unique. Our music program is known across the nation and produces students with college level educations and experiences. Our sports programs also allow student athletes to play the games they know and love while working with experienced coaches and trainers. Basically, all of our organizations are participated in heavily by our student body. Not only are they successful programs because of the coaches and teachers, but also because if the effort the students put in to make them great!

Upper Darby High School is a melting pot! This school has so many opportunities for students, that you are exposed to different cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, etc. from fellow students that participate in sports. During the pep rally we are split by grades and it is pretty intense. The freshmen sit on the father side by themselves, whereas the other grades split into sections on the other bleachers. Everyone screams, until they lose their voices, well I do at least. It's really fun. Whenever a team is doing great they get recognition and are encouraged to continue their hard work. Students come out to support each other. Anyone can come to participate in teams, and the coaches will work with them and the whole team to get the basics down etc. We have a gym that sometimes coaches will make us train in, not often though. It's just a great way to spend more time with friends and release stress.

School spirit is something that Upper Darby is certainly not lacking and even though some of our equipment is not as new as some other schools, we are able to make do with what we have. Our faulty created the "varsity club" in the efforts to boost student attendance to sporting events and in return, it has payed off nicely. For example, at the senior night of our school's wrestling team last month, the gym was packed with adoring fans cheering on our players. Our extra encouraged must have helped since the team was able to take home the central league championship!
