Overall educational quality is good. The school district has a lot of affluent families in it so a lot of extra amenities are provided. Lots of clubs and extracurricular activities and state-of-the-art sports facilities. Unfortunately, the administration feels very accountable to No Child Left Behind standards, so they end up creating some roadblocks to "unequal" (or exemplary) learning such as mandating that AP course curriculum be connected with the curriculum of the regular course, reprimanding teachers that teach more than the dictated curriculum, etc.

Overall very good. Better than any of the other schools in the area by a long shot.

I really love all the teachers at Washburn Rural High School. They are probably the best part of my experience. Most of the students are super kind as well. Everyone seems to be hoping the best for others and that is a great feeling. The only down fall is that administration is so strict that sometimes it feels like we are in a prison, not a school. The lunches are decent, thanks to the Ali Cart options. School spirit is not widely popular but still practiced. And the clubs and sports teams are all excellent, along with the coaches and sponsers.

Overall, I feel that I have received an excellent education from my high school. Administration focuses on helping students be involved in the community and successful. My teachers were always very encouraging and supportive. However, I feel that there needs to be more diversity in the district, which is predominantly white, upper-middle class families.
