Going to highschool at Waunakee High School has been a great experience but also a not so great experience. In the beginning of highschool there were rumors that there was freshman initiation, in which some sophomores took a part in; that was one memory why I wouldn't choose this school again. Other than a few bad experiencse and a lot of drama with friends, I loved my experience at Waunakee High School. They provided a great environment for students and learning; they provided personal student tutors, a writing center and a contact time, where you can sit down with teachers and get help. They provide many clubs and organizations for students to get involved in; which I did, I joined DECA and HERO Club. Along with being a class officer my freshman and sophomore year. My favorite experiences would have to be going to sports events (mostly Friday night lights), going to prom and homecoming and being able to be a part of the Varsity Girls Soccer team, which feels like a second family to me.

The health classes need to teach about more forms of birth control than abstinence. People will have sex, and they need to know. And they should teach more than heterosexual sex because surprise! Gay people exist.

WHS is known regionally for its strong academics. Students have access to many AP classes, and most of them participate in the AP program at least once during their high school career. Teachers are generally engaging and want their students to succeed. WHS is a homework-heavy school, requiring students to do a lot of study and work outside the classroom.
