My experience at West Vigo High School has been very special. Some of my best moments include beating school sport records and also passing some A.P. exams! All of these moments stems from the faculty that West Vigo has, and their ability to prepare us for the real world. My teachers have guided me throughout my classes in order to allow me to be ready for college. On the other side, our school lacks diversity. We sure have some diversity, but not as much as other schools around here. I definitely would love to see change brought to West Vigo about it. Not a small project, but I would love to see something that stands out to others and that makes a difference for and in our school. Whether that be students learning about diversity or students going out in the community to learn just how diverse our school can be. At West Vigo High School, we have great staff and career preparation! The only thing that could be brought out in West Vigo is the diversity!
I love going to West Vigo High School! It is one of the county's best schools, and I will always stand by that. The opportunities that are offered here are endless. All the teachers are very selfless, helpful, and amazing at what they do. The building Is safe and there is always someone available to talk to any time of the day. I have had a great experience at West Vigo and I'm sure others could say the same.
West Vigo High School provided me with immense opportunities for individual exploration in the performing and musical arts because of it's relaxed program. The academic classes are not always the most intellectually stimulating, but if you take advantage of the resources provided you can excel and thrive. My favorite instructors at West are Mrs. Easton (science), Mr. Gelb (band), Ms. Laughlin (art), Mrs. Davis (English) and Ms. Wittenmyer (choir). Non of our sports teams excel in their fields, but our winter guard program has been extremely successful in the past 20 years. Physically, the school building is unhealthy. The school has had frequent mold issues and the HVAC system is extremely irregular, causing an increased prone to illness.
