Health & Safety:
While I attended school, you knew who had tobacco products on them. There was always people chewing tobacco in the shop classes. Every day you'd find a wad of chew in a water fountain, you'd find people hiding out in the back of the school smoking cigarette's. It was very common. With the faculty it seemed to be like a "Don't ask, don't tell" rule. While some teachers and faculty frowned upon tobacco at school, others didn't care as long as it wasn't obvious.
Bullying was prominent among my friends and I primarily. I was in the crowd of people who suffered from the most harassment. While in high school physical altercations in school were not as common as in middle school, put downs and verbal harassment became more prevalent. Bullying was common and the school staff was careless. Their interest in bullying was minimal unless it happened to their own child.
